There are some other nice additions like shooting from vehicles. If they must keep the bunny hopping, why not tie it to the fatigue meter so it similates exersion like the sprinting? I do like the sprinting in Battlefield 2. This is really annoying as it makes dodging bullets a lot easier and looks totally ridiculous. Secondly, as other people have mentioned, your soldier with full battle gear can leap effortlessly like an olympic athlete 5 feet in the air repeatedly. I don't understand why EA didn't allow a "classic" mode for people who want to play without the commander stuff and artillery. If you are pinned back at one base, the enemy relentlessly pummels you with this artillery, which gets old fast.
